From our hotel, it is only a three-minute walk to the Rastkogelbahn ski lift, the gateway to the ski and glacier world of the Zillertal 3000. 196 kilometres of slopes for all levels are waiting for you: Whether you are a beginner or already a seasoned skier, here everyone will find an exhilarating run. There are also fun parks and halfpipes where you can show off your skills on skis or snowboards. A sports bus stops right in front of the Dorfplatzl and takes you to the Hintertux Glacier in only a few minutes. What’s more, the ski run finishes right at our front door. A special highlight of any visit is the Zillertal glacier circuit. Take on the 60 kilometres of downhill descent of all difficulty levels and over 15,000 vertical meters! Ice Skating & Curling
No winter holiday would be complete without curling! Anyone holidaying in Tux, should also try their hand at this classic winter sports. That’s why the Dorfplatzl hosts Ossi and Nina always like to take their guests onto the natural ice rink to try out their skills there. If you do a particularly good job, then you can look forward to glory and honour at the award ceremony in the Pizzeria Platzl. Guests who want to glide more or less elegantly over the ice will be in their element at the skating rink in Lanersbach. Oh, and for a memorable experience, from Tuesday to Sunday, many rinks offer evening skating with romantic lighting.
If skiing isn’t your thing or if you want to take a break, tobogganing will be right down your street. Unadulterated fun in the snow in a fantastic winter landscape can be found on a total of 17 kilometres of toboggan runs – which are also lit up at night. Tobogganing fun for young and old even at a late hour is guaranteed. Night tobogganing is also possible here. And during the day you can enjoy the dreamlike Alpine panorama or stop off at one of the numerous huts – a perfect winter day!
Shows and events
When the physical exertion becomes too much you can unwind and marvel at the unique ski show put on at the Hinteranger ski lift. “Heartbeat on Snow” offers spectacular lighting effects, great music and impresses spectators of all ages. The ski instructors of the Tux ski schools always draw gasps of wonder from onlookers as they demonstrate their skills on skis.
From sledding back to skiing: For all cross-country skiers, there is the 14-kilometer classic cross-country ski trail, which is partly snow-covered and snow-sure and goes from Tux-Vorderlanersbach to Madseit. You can enter the trail at different places – however, the arrow direction of the track is to be observed. In addition, there is also a 14 km long skating track. The cross-country ski run is free to use. If you would like to try cross-country skiing but are not sure how to get started, lessons are offered by the ski schools. The equipment can be hired or purchased from all ski rentals and sports shops.
Winter hiking & snowshoeing
Hiking is a chance to dress up warmly and go out there to enjoy some phenomenal views. A total of 68 kilometres of hiking trails lure you into the beautiful Tux winter landscape. Pristine nature away from the busy ski slopes enchant young and old. The tracks can be chosen according to their level of difficulty, ensuring winter fun for the whole family. Even with snowshoeing no prior experience is needed, and tours are offered with different levels of difficulty. The equipment is available at all ski rental and sports shops
